You guys assuming that anyone who wants to shoot 2 does a day are being held back by the current rules is pretty funny. You obviously don't know Lawrence county and most of Alabama.

Chuckie has a buddy or a couple buddies with $$ money that want to shoot one in the morning and another in the afternoon because they only hunt their private 3,000 acre TajMahal a couple times a year. They don't want to fool with this harvest limit crap. When they sit in their shooting house they see "too many does". They think they have an overpopulation because they don't see a huge racked 8 pointer standing our there broadside waiting on them.
Something like that.
If you think this works some other way you are a moron. This is the Montgomery Good Ole Boy's network they make ZERO rule changes that are not in their own self serving interest. You think those guys are following any rules?

I believe it’s like this for the majority of folks. The people that are killing too many does are not going to benefit from the 2 a day rule. They are already pressuring and depleting thier resource. It may help them out some but the numbers are what they are whether the shots are 24 hours apart or 5 seconds apart.
It will help my club because now we can kill the same amount of does we were before with half as much pressure.

Y’all give Chuck too much credit…….There’s other folks pulling these strings….. This hasn’t got anything to do with anyone’s hunting plantation…..That guy would shoot two now if they wanted to…..This is about other interests and keeping the general John Q. Hunter pulling that trigger……This is to reinforce to all of those folks that think there’s too many does that the state agrees with them…Choooot ‘em boys!!!!… I hope I’m around to see Karmic justice catch up to this strategy one day......

I don’t realize they had a short window until I called a buddy and told him I needed a doe. He likes to shoot. Said it had closed. He usually sees 15-20 a sit and several bucks. He tries to get kids and all to shoot does. If they opener up and two a day I’ll be set to get me some deer meat. 😝

It’s fine except most Bama hunters in hunting clubs can’t seem to grasp the concept of common sense doe killing.

Too many outlaws around me kill everything they see. Then they complain about not seeing any big deer. Then they start trespassing. I wish Colbert and Lawrence had a closed season on does. The numbers are no where close to the carrying capacity of the counties. I have no trouble with a child killing a doe, but I grew up when there were no deer in Colbert and Lawrence. If you saw a deer track it was something you took all your friends to see. Coyotes kill many of the little ones anyway so why have a two a day season and slaughter the deer all season. I just don’t think two a day is a good move at all.
I can't stand a thief.

Sounds like its being proposed to go back to the two doe per day rule.....I mean since it worked out so well the first time...... You mean they changed it? It hasn’t been 2 per day the entire time?!

So are we at the point now where they just make up new rules without having to give any justification as to why??.....I mean everyone was up in arms about things like the Feb extension not being needed in north Alabama……Where is the justification for needing to go back to two does per day??

Insurance companies making a push to get those car vs deer collisions down to zero. Nothing an insurance company hates worse than a no-fault accident. If this doesn't wipe the herd out sufficiently, I guess they will order Chuckie to start aerial spraying with a poison to eradicate the last of them.
