Oh, I agree that the heart of God hasn't changed. Its just the way we respond now is different. We should sacrificially give as God purposes in our heart. The Jews gave 1/10 to the Lord in all kinds of offerings that were really complex. It was much deeper than just a 10% "tithe". And I agree we can look back at the O.T. and see how a believers posture should be while giving and how God blesses obedience. Sacrificial giving is a good thing and I believe is part of being obedient. But IMO scriptures associated with N.T. giving, or offerings are completely different than O.T. "tithing".

For example - A modern day believer has connections with people who are hungry and homeless. They have no bibles and have great needs. This believer sacrificially gives to these people so they can eat, be clothed, and be saved and discipled. But, this Christian doesn't give that money as a 10% tithe to the church that is already doing well financially, Does this mean the believer is being disobedient ?
