I am drinking from my saucer cause my cup has overflowed. Thank you Lord

Battery powered scaler and electric knife if you want filets. I like to fry my bream whole so I use an electric scaler then gut and cut the head off.

Head off and gutted and put couple slits down side before breading. I rub down in mustard before applying breading.

Use a cotton glove on left hand and scale with a tablespoon. Big titty bream, fillet one side and cook the other side with bone, tail and fins attached.

Scale under 3 or 4 inches of water in the sink and the scales won't fly everywhere.

Fillet is quicker IF you're good at it.

I'm a filet and fry guy. I don't understand how yall pick the meat from those whole fried fish. Seems like a lot of work for such a little meat when I can just eat the whole boneless filet in one bite.

Seems like a lot of work for such a little meat when I can just eat the whole boneless filet in one bite. I like them filleted too, but they don't taste the same as one fried whole. There's definitely a skill to eating a whole one, and my wife and kids never would try to develop it. I learned to eat whole bream at a very young age because my 2 options were to learn or go hungry. I had an uncle who called bream "Sunday fish." He said he could only eat them on Sunday when he had plenty of time to pick out the bones. A 2 lb catfish was a "During the week fish." The uncle has been gone for 30 years, but several in my family still talk about Sunday fish and during the week fish.

Most Kids have no patience for this. I've seen it at Church fish fries.
