A guy I know took his family to Mazatlan on vacation about 20 plus years ago. Had a big idea to rent a jeep and take his boys out exploring the area while his wife had a spa day. BAD idea even back then evidently. They were overtaken by thugs/cartel members and held at gun point. Jack mentioned them shoving rifles barrels into his face etc…….. his boys were pretty young and down right scared to death. Then the police showed up, lights and all. The police and thugs talked and one of the police came over and said give them all your money and valuables “Rolex” and turn around and head back to town.
Jack said he’d never take his family out of country again.
