Most turkeys are easy to kill. Keeping a good flock is the hard part. I would have no problem with baiting if we could have trigger restraint. Closing the spring turkey season would be one of the best options to bring back turkeys in some areas. Turkeys gobble so loud they can be heard for a 1/2 mile or more on a quiet morning. If we could just do away with the poachers or those who try to shoot every turkey, baiting woud have little impact. You would think if folks only here two gobblers in two months they would have sense enough to realize we need those and a half dozen hens or more to keep the population going. I have seen folks with a deer hunting addiction, but turkey hunters can be another step up. I use to fish an area and can remember the last gobbler sound for five years in that area of woods. Would have been no problem to have shot that last one. People will go crazy over deer and turkeys.
