Do y'all really think this will lead anywhere that is good? Why in the hell would this discussion be held on a damn hunting forum? C'mon man folks ought to know better. These are not topics for discussion here. Church, at home, face to face among friends, or on a religion forum. Don't be surprised by any remark that may be made on here. Common sense is definitely not common any more. There are people of different faiths, including atheists and agnostics on here and people of different races but some folks have the crazy idea that only white, southern baptists are on this site and if anybody argues their view of the world they get attacked. So, if you're gonna post topics like this expect anything and don't get your panties in a wad if everyone doesn't agree with you. Must suck having someone force you at gunpoint to sit at your computer and read this huh.

Christ is not for divorce. Christ is also merciful and forgiving. It would be wonderful if the church could be more like Christ. 12 years later & still true.
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

my first wife initiated divorce proceedings so she could marry her boss. alabama is a no-fault divorce state. nothing i could do about it, and i did not fight it because there was no point. it was a done deal in any case. so, technically, Matthew was not violated by me. my second - and 40-year-current bride - had not been married before, yet she chose me and my 4-yer-old daughter. pretty sure we are OK by Matthew ...

Don't back pedal out now. You implied a lack of salvation with your comments even if you didn't come right out and say it. The bible has something to say about judging others which is also a sin. Where in the Bible does it say that judging other is a sin? The most well-known Bible verse about judging others is found in Matthew 7:1-5, which states, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged" and emphasizes the hypocrisy of judging others while ignoring your own faults; essentially saying that judging others with a critical attitude is considered a sin if done with self-righteousness and without considering your own shortcomings. But it does not say that judging other is a sin. Even what Paul said in Romans does not call it a sin to judge others - In the second chapter of Romans, the apostle Paul writes the following about judging others, “Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things." You are only condemned if you do the same thing and judge others.

The other topic on alcohol made me think of a discussion we had at work a few weeks ago on the subject of divorce and getting married again. Thought I would see what everyone's opinion on that subject is.
Matthew 5:32
But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.
Matthew 19:9
I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery.
1 Corinthians 7:10-11 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.
Those passages pretty much sum up my opinion on the subject.
Those are certainly the moral commandments/law on the subject. But as with all sin(s) the blood of Christ covers all. If the sinner has received, believed, etc. Christ was the one who said it

Either believe the word(all of it) or why even bother. If the bible speaks against something that's final. I guess its OK for gays to marry because God loves them too huh? There are too many so called Christians that are lukewarm or even cold. You can't live your life as you wish and in the end expect all will be OK. Amen !! This says it all . Should be end of discussion. Too many people try read between the lines . I for one am not casting the first stone .

When scripture clearly lays out that divorce can and does happen there are those that still think a person should remain in a marriage when the other person has broken covenant/contract
The one thing that people fail to see is that no one can control what another person does no matter how much you love them
Yes marriage can be healed when adultery happens but it’s a hard row to hoe
I’ve forgave my former wife for her adultery and she did it again
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself

I will be Married for 41 years in May. I was married for 3 years before that to a wife that left me. God has not cast me off to hell. I am saved and he has used me. I guess that is hard for some to understand. But Gods ways are a little higher than ours. Every page of my bible has got multiple notes on it. Sometimes I want to comment when it is just better to be quiet

Kyles, according to the bible, unless your first wife ran around on you, you are living in adultry. No human ever went to hell for adultry. Im in the same boat as you. And yes, i figure God has forgiven us both, but were still adulterers. I doubt God has ever thought of it again, since he cast it into the sea of forgetfullness. But people will occasionally remind us of it. At this point in our lives, i dont think its a big deal. But look at it like any other sin we commited. We did it. Its in our past. It might even come up now and then. But it wont be God that brings it up, itll be us or satan.
