To answer your question directly though the difference between the $8000 ones and the $2000 ones is most of the time the cheaper ones are hub drive which means the motor is in the rear wheel and most times it’s 750watt motors. They are cheaper because they are less desirable due to torque put out not being robust enough to handle hunting situations. If you are riding for fun on flat roads it’s fine. The more expensive ones are mid drive motors which means the motor is in the bracket that your pedals come out of. It’s is capable of more torque output without tearing up your drive train constantly. If you are going to be climbing hills and running ridges go with the mid drive. Don’t pay $8000 for that crap though. You can make one for a little over a grand.
