We had a samurai for about 10 years. Used deer and turkey season only. Sat the rest. Never had a bit of trouble with it
We didn’t unhook battery or anything special

I’d get an older model diesel 4wd. I’d take in hook the batteries when I wasn’t using it. Keep some fuel conditioner in it. It can sit for a year and bust back off just like it was crunk the day before. Run off road fuel, it’ll stay fresher than gas, get some knobby mud tires and it’ll get around pretty good. Can plug it up in deer season and the heater will warm in a few minutes. I have a 90 model f250 with the 7.3 idi I’ve hunted out of for years. Drove that old joker everywhere

I wouldn’t leave at the hunting land exposed for all the field mice like others have said. If you don’t want to trailer it from Tampa, I’d rent a bare bones storage unit close to where you hunt and park the golf cart on the trailer there so it’s kept inside. Then load the storage unit with Dcon for the summer.
