What is the best vehicle to just let sit around for ~6 months and only use during hunting season? 2 people.

I assume battery & not gas.

If u do battery are you better to put a solar charger on it to keep the batteries charged or let them sit and drain?

I don't need to drive very far, or fast (~10mph is plenty) but may have some slight hills to climb.

What was the name of the little Jeep like Izuzu's ? I was in a SC club where everybody had one and usually left them there.

How big is the property, are you wanting to drive on the public roads, will it be left at your hunting property? I personally use a lifted golf cart with mudtires. Hunt 300 acres, 1/2 of the property is low land, and floods alot during the winter. Property is also spread out over 3 different tracts, that i will use public road ways ( side of the road ) to access 1 piece of the property. It has served me well the last three years. If you are trailering it from home you can just charge the batteries every week to make sure they stay charged, and dont loose the power. The golf cart is nimble, and can get into some tight areas that a full sized sxs may strugle to turn in.

Samurai was made by Suzuki.

Isuzu made the Trooper.

I've had better luck with gas engines. The key is to just run it out of fuel when you put it away. You can put a fuel cutoff on anything. Very Simple.

I had a S-10 blazer and left it at the farm/club and didn't touch it for six months. Rats and mice chewed every bit of electrical wiring from the head lights to the tail lights and ripped the fireproofing from the engine and dash to make nests and stash about 500 acorns and pecans. Make sure you rodent proof whatever you go with.

I was just going to say that usually a vehicle that is left at a hunting camp is a field mouse's paradise, they tend to eat any exposed wiring.

My neighbor had a Subaru that was from California. The wiring insulation was made from a vegetable protein. They didn't just chew the wiring, they ate it.

Yup.

Suzuki also made the Sidekick.

Geo based the Tracker off the Sidekick.

There are a surprising number of those Geo Trackers still roaming around the woods as hunting vehicles.

Rats and mice chew up the wiring on 4-wheelers and Golf Carts more so than autos in my experience.

The Aldeer ADHD always teaches me something. I never thought about keeping the mice from eating the wiring was a huge priority. Thx

Many newer vehicles have soy based wiring insulation. Honda sells a red pepper infused tape to wrap them. Vehicles that have more open air circulation around wiring are less prone to problems but I'd be real surprised if anything was immune. I've had holes chewed in gas cans that have gas in them.

I've probably had more trouble with them eating Vacuum hose than wiring. A Rat Snake hanging around under the hood is yer friend. I like finding fresh snake skins around my ol' Toyota.

Vermin will ruin a vehicle a lot of ways. Eating wires is one of many.

they've trashed a Mule and Tractor lately for us. We weren't diligent enough about rat poison, or about blowing the leaves out of the shed in the Fall and Winter.

To sit around? My truck when itโ€™s cold. Heater on and rifle out the window.
