Ended up having to pull my line today due to rabbit hunters. Setting up again this weekend somewhere else though. Nothing but a mangy starved pit bull today. Felt sorry for him till he started growling and biting at me.

Thanks johnv! Seems like you got the beaver thing down to a science. The property owner wants me to help with a beaver issue now. I know nothing and he has bought some traps. The beavers are girdling pine trees that are 20 inches in diameter, around 25 to be exact. I'm not even sure what traps he has bought, might be asking some advice in the next few weeks.

Thanks johnv, I'm heading to the property in the morning. Going to set some DP's and a couple of hog traps for Thursday night and then pull them Friday with rain coming Saturday around 2:00 am. Property owner is going to try and be there tomorrow so I'll see what he's got.

Pulled everything today. Hopefully got what was left of the beavers. Some have been shot and they had already blew the huts up with tannerite so who knows. Took out 2 males and 2 huge females

If people asked you to come to their land and trap beavers what would you say is a fair price? My duck farm planting is looking real bad this year. Can't compete with big money

Its all about driving distance for me. I could have a ton of work but working a regular job doesn't allow me to go very far. If someone is close and I like them I usually just tell them we'll agree on a fair price and talk it out. Other places I've charged 300 or so setup fees and the rest depends on driving distance. I trapped one place 10 minutes from my work for 7 days for 500 dollars. Wasn't worth it but I really like the guy and it's close. Hell at the end of the day I really enjoy water trapping long as I don't go in the hole money wise
