If you do buy from out of state, don’t be surprised if in a year or two you get a property tax notice from the AL Dept of Revenue for storing your new asset in this state. Ironically, this tax rate is identical to the state sales tax rate you would’ve paid for a purchase in Alabama. This. I bought my last 4 wheeler in MS and about six months later got a bill from the AL Dept of Revenue. The MS dealer told me by law, they have to notify the state you reside in of the purchase so don’t plan on saving any sales tax by buying out of state.
