I shoot a 7-08 and have noticed that the poly tipped bullets don’t leave an exit wound most of the time. But most of my deer drop right there. Shot one a little high last day of season and he went about 20 yards and ran into a tree. He was going so fast he broke his leg in several pieces when he hit the tree. Never had one break a bone running into a tree. Not all polymer tipped bullets are the same. Bullet construction determines how a bullet performs, not the tip.
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.
