They offered Federal workers option to retire/quit with bonus and pay through Oct 1.
New Gov workers still in Probationary phase were released.
I know of some Federal employees who wanted to take the early out but they were told they were considered necessary and denied the early out option...these are VA workers.
Not sure they have outright cut other jobs except those that worked at USAID or had DEI contracts that were canceled.
Specifically talking about the USFS/National Park workers outside the probationary period and not retirement eligible. Those workers are supposedly received a letter mentioning poor performance when they have had good employees reviews. They reportedly fired nuclear weapons programs workers that the Trump administration halted due to the needs for those em[ployees, some of which need Top Secret Clearances lol. It seems from reports that Musk isn't a "part" of Doge yet is making decisions and that DOGE fails to understand what specific entities do and yet they release employess. Hopefully common sense is being used to delete jobs and not just a numbers (money) game to look good.
