read where Will Primos asked the Ms Game Commission to legalize turkey baiting??? WTH???
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

It wasn't Will Primos himself, but a member of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus on behalf of Will Primos. I could not believe what I was hearing as I watched it. Basically, in Mississippi, it is legal to bait ("supplemental feed") deer during turkey season. But it is ILLEGAL to hunt turkey influenced by bait. So basically if you choose to bait deer during turkey season, and turkey are influenced by that bait, you legally can't hunt that area. Now rather than ask for supplemental feeding to be banned during turkey season, which would make BY FAR the most sense, they asked for a "distance requirement from feeder" like Florida has. Where you can bait but have to be 100 yards from the feeder. A rule such as this would effectively cause the mass majority of private property in Mississippi to start baiting turkeys. Disgusting. If it was such a concern for Will Primos, why didn't Will Primos show up himself to the commission meeting? I know it sure wouldn't be a good look for him if he said this stuff himself. I reckon thats why it got routed through the CSC. I just can't wrap my mind around WHY a turkey lover would ask for a distance requirement rather than the elimination of baiting during turkey season. What the heck?!

Have mercy. When will it end. People can already shoot 60+ yards to kill one. The way it's going turkeys need to get the sense of smell and deer colored vision. If we as predators are gonna keep increasing our advantages so should the animal.
Gone are the days that it was about the hunt. Now it's just about the kill.

Outrageous. There should be no distance distinctions. Should be able to sit as close or as far as you desire.

Turkey way diff than deer in that regard - u can kill the whole flock. Thats like brain dead stupid. 4 year old kid can easily kill like that. Totally diff animal in regard to corn!!
My 5 yr old deer daylighted almost 0 the entire year - turkey ain't gonna give a crap - its coming to corn. If you are killing turkeys over corn - slap yourself really hard then just quit turkey hunting
I put it out way before the season only!!

Turkey way diff than deer in that regard - u can kill the whole flock. It’s one a day and 4 for the whole season in Alabama. All these folks that you know that are killing the whole flock, are breaking the rules without a baiting law. Or are you suggesting that these rule breakers are waiting on the baiting law to be passed to become law breakers?

🤦🏻♂️ goodness 😕 i started out in Texas & i remember telling my hunt stories to an old timer - sharing about how challenging it was to get a bird within shotgun range … he blurted out, “SHOTGUN RANGE??!!” & i said, ya … 🤷🏻♂️ didn’t know where he was going until he said, “hell son, i just roll up to a field & shoot them with my rifle - turkey hunting is EASY!” 😳😱
sure enough, you could kill turkeys in Texas with a rifle … but i never did - what’s the “sport” in that??
the hunt has always been the best part about turkey hunting … sometimes you win, most times they win - it’s just part of the game & ritual …
