That’s impressive.

I quit keeping up with any of that…….I figure other folks care about the number of deer I’ve recovered about as much as they care about the number of touchdowns I scored in high school…….. grin

I know how well they’re working……I walk behind them on every track……..The stats are about the same for most folks……Recovery rates are gonna be in the 40-60% range depending on if you take every call that comes in or weed out the backwhacks, etc…….All the numbers are outside of that though are really just something else for guys to compete over for who can do the most……kinda like who can kill the most……at a certain point I found it to be more enjoyable to just go out and track for folks and not be in a competition with others…..the same way a lot of folks find that they just enjoy going hunting without it being about who kills the biggest or the most…..

To each their own though……I’m not trying to be critical of anyone else……I know when we’re younger a lot of us are driven by different motives than when we start getting older…..Its not all a bad thing to want to track the most…..or be the best …..Its a natural drive for males……But…….its easy to let the competition rob of you of some of the enjoyment of just being out there watching the sun come up working your dogs if you’re not careful

I could care less who found more, the biggest, etc. I just like numbers. If yall didn’t keep up with them, no big deal.

CNC when I use to follow coonhounds around 8 nights a week, I finally had the best hound I ever had… I kept a journal of her every nights hunt. It was a competition between Me and Her vs the bandits… I loved her so much when she died the love for it died… wish I’d kept the journal but i laid it with her…
I know a gouge you pretty hard on the tracking vs dog hunter deal, but I don’t doubt one bit you are in it for your dog, just as I was with mine. I never got into the money hunts bc of that very reason..

I just love everything about tracking except for the driving. I only accept tips and I always feel like it works out at the end of the year. I will always cherish the memories I've made with my dogs. They are my best friends and we just understand each other. I'm not near as good at understanding people
