Me and my boys went and raided a buttercup thicket, few reeds, and a cedar twig or two. Dropped them in a mason jar vase. Wife loves em every year! She made a cake and I gave her a gift certificate to the boutique and some sour candy….. let’s see how she barters.

Valentine’s Day is like Mother’s Day. I don’t do that because Hallmark says I’m supposed to for their sales. Mom gets taken to dinner or cooked for randomly. The wife has long known that if she gets flowers from me they’ll still have roots attached.
That said, my Mardi Gras organization is having a party tomorrow night with open bar, dinner and a live band. It’s always a good time.

My wife and I pretty much stopped doing any gift giving on any holidays/bdays/etc years ago. We both pretty much get anything we want or need when wanted/needed, within reason anyway lol. We let each other know daily how much we love and appreciate each other and live our lives in a way that makes each of our lives, individually and as a couple, better and happier. Guess that’s why going on 44 years together I really do not like being away from her or vice versa. She knows my life is not at its best unless she is within easy groping range.

I love my Valentines with a passion!!!!!!!! I’ll do whatever she would like. Thankfully, she doesn’t have to do it on “that day” and be out with everyone. I celebrated her Wednesday. Dinner and a card and …. It’s a together thing. I’m blessed beyond measure, and I know it.
