The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

When you are constantly having an internal argument with yourself, about whether your next purchase should be a gun or a new safe because you're out of room in the current one...but it's hard to put $X toward a safe when the same amount of money could buy a nice gun....and so you just keep going back & forth
I have already solved this particular problem.  I fight it every day...hate to spend money on a new safe when I could use it to buy a gun or two, but if I buy a gun or two now, I'm not sure where I'd put them. Damned if you do, damned if you don't At some point you recognize that the value of weapons, optics, and certain accessories is at least 15-20x the cost of one good safe. But safes aren’t sexy and they sure aren’t easy to move into the place you might prefer them.

I slowed down when trying to get them all in the safe turned into Tetris. And most of my dad’s guns I inherited are still in his safe at my mother’s place.

I was perfectly ok until we started shooting pistols. Then it was 1911’s , revolvers, Glocks, pocket pistols, range pistols, etc. then ammo…..
Sometimes I’m ashamed. I’ve forgot about a few myself..

I guess Gun Whore is slightly more PC than the term used by many LEOs I know. They refer to them as Gun Queers. Of course, they exclude people that have guns for a legit purpose, so they don't have to classify themselves but they apply that term to people that collect guns and barely know how to shoot them, or shoot them in silly ways. There was one clown that used to go to our range and dive, roll, and come up shooting. Of course he got the whole range to himself because everyone with any sense cleared out. If one of us wanted to shoot, we told him to cut it out or leave. He was what they called a Gun Queer and wannabe police officer.
Now I would be included but something always stops me when I realize I'm spending money on something I really don't need. Now, if a nice Ruger#1 comes along at a price I think is good, I'd be in on it. Then I'd work on getting a nice scope on it and I'd hunt with it so I can justify the expenditure in my mind.

At what point did you consider you have a problem?
When I brought home my latest acquisition and realized my safe is full, and I still have several hiding out under the bed that I need to get into the safe. Hitting my nephew up next week to see if he'll sell me dad's old safe being he's not using it.

I went to the gun store today to buy a couple cameras. Came out with a kimber revolver, browning blr 270 and a browning xbolt white gold medallion 30-06. It was like an out of body experience and I feel so good about it
