I guess Gun Whore is slightly more PC than the term used by many LEOs I know. They refer to them as Gun Queers. Of course, they exclude people that have guns for a legit purpose, so they don't have to classify themselves but they apply that term to people that collect guns and barely know how to shoot them, or shoot them in silly ways. There was one clown that used to go to our range and dive, roll, and come up shooting. Of course he got the whole range to himself because everyone with any sense cleared out. If one of us wanted to shoot, we told him to cut it out or leave. He was what they called a Gun Queer and wannabe police officer.

Now I would be included but something always stops me when I realize I'm spending money on something I really don't need. Now, if a nice Ruger#1 comes along at a price I think is good, I'd be in on it. Then I'd work on getting a nice scope on it and I'd hunt with it so I can justify the expenditure in my mind.
