Guy who did my walk in shower and bathroom, stayed 3 nights at my house and slept in his car.
I was off two of those days and cooked him breakfast and supper. Great guy, couldn’t speak a lick of English though.

Those tax credits is another form of. I know of several that live off those tax rebates and food stamps. It works best when the parents are split up but work together

Those young men doing that contracting work will be the ones owning the businesses in 20 years. I would rather it by American citizens.

Who is gonna pick our fruit/veges is the same BS that wealthy slave owners used in the 1850's. Some bright enterprising farmer invented a machine that does it faster, cheaper, better today.

They are picking up everyone they can, criminal or no criminal. They have orders to arrest a specific number per day.

I know there are a few on here that would work doing that unskilled labor, but I bet there aren't many who would for wages that still allow the farmer to stay in the black. There are a few that could and would work doing the skilled labor as well, but likely not for what these crews are being paid, which as someone pointed out, will increase the end cost to the consumer.

Maybe my perspective is different having lived in TX, but I don't remember a time when there weren't Hispanics doing seasonal farm work. I wouldn't have the first clue if they were legal or not, but I don't remember much talk about the legality of it then.

I am 100% in favor of foreigners having work visas.

But, will those types of jobs be ones that the US will allow a work visa for? My thoughts are that maybe that wouldn't be the case if there are able bodied folks that have been living on the welfare train who can do unskilled labor. If that is the case, how do y'all think it will go?

As for the welfare riders doing the skilled labor, I'm not so sure I would want those folks working on construction for me. I feel like they would be resentful of having to be there in the first place and have no pride in their workmanship and only be there to get a check.

If their value has went ip considerably, then it shouldnt be a problem to put folks here to work f they are being paid well..from what ive seen..its about its about 50/50 on work quality…they may be getting paid well and showin up…but that dont mean the work they do is worth a chit…some are..but ive seen some houses built around here that just look like chit…an i know mexicans did it. Around here..chit loads of crews are mexicans…but the reputable names that everbody wants doin craftsmen style work..all white dudes an they come from all over an byned they name their price too.

Cost per square foot is up because of materials not wages or illegals.

Another thing, the biggest abuse of wetbacks is other latinos, not whitey !

I am a proponent of a one for one swap, a hard working wetback for a lazy american scumbag any day of the week !

Ice should not be cruising through construction zones, its the wrong people !

It's amazing how simple it really is, yet most people can't or won't see it.

And President Trumps press secretary said unlike previous administrations everyone who is the country illegally is a criminal.

I saw the other day they stated their goal was one million this year. Under Eisenhowerd operation wetback he only deported little over 100 thousand. Over one million self deported. If they achieve their goals the self deportation is where the drop in numbers will be seen.

Ya'll are just looking at one piece of the puzzle and president Trump has only been on the job 3 weeks. You have to look at the bigger economic picture. Several things will factor in to offset the temporary labor cost increase. The so-called housing shortage was largely in part to millions of illegals invading our country in such a short period of time. Once we've reestablished our energy independence and removed regulatory roadblocks the price of gas, and more importantly diesel fuel, will come down. Cost of supplies and building materials will come down. DOGE has already found enough corrupt and wasteful spending to make a big dent in the deficit. I believe they'll eventually save enough to operate a balanced budget. I also believe president Trump has a plan to seriously reduce, or even eliminate income tax. Possibly property tax as well. Once foreign countries and importers are paying their fair amount of tariffs, that alone could eliminate the need for income tax. That's how this country was funded prior to income tax which was established in 1913. Legal immigration will be streamlined to allow productive and properly vetted immigrants to come in and help fill labor gaps. There's way more to this puzzle than just DOGE and ICE. President Trump is the reigning world champion of 3D chess. It's a long game goal. And let's not forget, we didn't get here overnight, we're not going heal our wounds overnight either. We're in this battle for our children's future even we may actually have to sacrifice a little, our children and grandchildren will reap the benefits in the long term. We have to stand strong behind president Trump and keep the momentum. Keep the faith! 👍
