I have used OSB for a roof but I cover it in tar paper and then screw R panel to it. I have some I did 5-6 years ago and its doing fine. I think the tar paper helps to keep moisture that forms (condensation) on the bottom of the metal. I used to just screw the metal to the rafters but then it would sometimes drip on me in the stand. Tar paper is cheap and lasts a long time.

There's no reason to deck it if youre going to put metal on it. Properly installed metal roof will be there when you are long gone

I have 20 yr old shooting houses with osb and a metal roofs. Overlap the metal (of course), then over lap the shooting house by 6” all the way around and screw it down with roofing screws. It’ll be fine.

Yep , lathing and metal , that's what mine have. They are sealed overhead with a ceiling .

If it’s particle board take it off. Nothing good can come of it.

If you’re trying to save a dollar on metal call ahead and see what kind of scraps they have. Color really wouldn’t matter.

My shooting houses are very well built and have no gaps in walls or ceiling. I have very few bugs or wasps. If there wasnt a plywood ceiling I would be dealing with that crap. My houses have either deerview windows or some of the old ones have a piece of PVC 1x2 that I routed out for the glass to have a groove to side in.

Floor and walls up to windows are carpeted.

Warm, clean, and quiet.
