Thanks for the input on the other post. This is why I wanted a taxidermist. I have shot plenty of deer in my hunting career and I have been blessed. Most of which I do European Mounts (Thanks Skullworks). This one is special though. I hunt my private place. I have had it since 2018. I try to use best practices in land management, and trigger control. This is one I have hunted for 3 years. Yesterday was only the 3rd time I have seen him in the flesh. This was the only time he presented a shot. This is my personal best. Best of all I got to take him with my hunting partner of 16 years my son. Pics to come.

Thanks. It’s sort of a rare bird. It’s actually an ultralight model. .243. This buck is actually the first deer I have shot with it.

Congratulations on a mighty fine one!

Someone will be along shortly to tell you that a .243 will just bounce off mature bucks! laugh

Ha! That’s why I didn’t mention I shot it from a shooting house! In a greenfield! I’m sorry, but I did shoot him before he had time to get to the feeder. I guess I couldn’t debunk all the myths at once🤷🏻‍♂️.

That's a fine buck anyway you cut it, but I'm sure it hits a little different on your own place.
