Yep and Simpson, Austin Mack , or The True Freshman Kellon Russell will be an upgrade from Milroe. The O-Line especially the two tackles have to be able to move their feet or No matter how good a QB is it will be a long day and season if they can’t move them big feet.

I just hope the offensive line gets better and we have someone step in who can fill Milroe's shoes....... Anyone remember a guy named Seth McLaughlin. He was supposedly the weak link and Milroe's excuse year before last. Transferred to OSU, won the starting job on the national championship winning team and started every single play until he tore his ACL in practice before the last game of the season. This past season: "Seth McLaughlin of Ohio State won the 2024 Rimington Trophy, which is awarded to the top college football center in the country." Yep, previous year's problems didn't have anything at all to do with Milroe's cadence, timing or anything like that. He just forgot how to snap a football between his JR and SR seasons, then remembered how as a graduate student. Seth had no problem snapping to Bryce and no problem snapping to the OSU QBs. The entire O-line was supposedly the problem this year, yet when Milroe just played with some of the top linemen in the country Saturday, and......he still sucked. The other two QBs did much better with the same rotation of linemen and didn't seem to have problems, yet Milroe struggled and still wasnt successful. Filling Milroe's shoes wont be too hard. They really are pretty small. Simpson or Mack will both do just fine. Russell might be in the mix, but it is really hard for a true freshman to make the jump from HS to college and start. It's a huge jump in the speed of the game, size, and strength for someone straight out of HS and I'm guessing he will be #3 just because of that. Line will probably look much better next year, now that Milroe is gone. A "bad" QB can make an "average" o-line look absolutely terrible, and that's what Bama has been dealing with for the past two seasons. Line wasnt stellar by any means and definitely could have played better, but it was probably average. Next year, it will prove to be much more adequate for whomever the QB ends up being, than it looked this season, during Milroe's tenure under center. There is a common denominator to these successes and failures and the overall equation, and it is the guy calling for and taking the snaps. Glad to see him gone.

The Complicated Case of Ryan Grubb – Hawk BloggerAs of January 2025, Ryan Grubb, an offensive coordinator in the NFL, most recently with the Seattle Seahawks, had a record of 10 wins and 7 losses in his first season calling plays at the professional level, though the team missed the playoffs; he was subsequently fired by the Seahawks.
The guys wins 10 games————-he’ll fit right in. Loose 7 hmmmmmm it could happen.

I’m sorry buddy but inaccurate snaps and getting bull rushed has NOTHING to do with the QB. Tell me how it does? Cadence has nothing to do with a snap being inaccurate. False starts? Yes. Inaccurate? No. He either had the in season gips or it was coaching. Plus if I’m not mistaken, they clapped that year. Someone at OSU fixed his issue or he had time to work through it. And it was well reported he had the same issue prior to Milroe, just not at that level. A bad QB doesn’t make a great offensive line look consistently horrible. You are connecting dots that fans and commentators make that aren’t there. Explain how a bad QB makes the o line not switch off or pass defenders or just get run slap over and pushed into the QB. Or beat off the edge. If you wanna say Milroe was terrible that’s fine. If you are glad he’s gone that’s fine. But don’t blame stuff on him that isn’t his fault. The o line is terrible in the run game too.

How do you explain a Center than can't snap the ball worth a crap changing schools and then winning the Remington Award as the nations best center?
How do you justify saying that Milroe's poor play was mostly due to the O Line at Bama when he played behind some of the nations best in the Senior Bowl and still sucked?
There's only 1 common denominator in this.

"A bad QB doesn’t make a great offensive line look consistently horrible." It does when that bad qb shifts protections the wrong way, doesn't call out blitzes and can't run the zone read correctly.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

It does when that bad qb shifts protections the wrong way, doesn't call out blitzes and can't run the zone read correctly. Exactly. Is that what happened all season? You know they have one way communication with the OC up to 15 seconds of play clock left right? If he did change protections late in the play clock on his own, what does that have to do with ability plays after the snap? 90% of changes in protection comes after the snap. Late blitzes, stunts, twists… all happen after the snap. There is no protections that call for the tackles get beat off the edge. Or the guard getting swimmed and then chasing the DT to the QB. Yall watch the freaking games. Anyone that can watch those guys and think that, consistently, their play was the QBs fault needs… Dang guys, it’s not that hard to watch and see the issues. As far as the Senior Bowl performance I haven’t seen it. I didn’t expect him to do well. He’s not really a guy that will step right in a new system and thrive. A ton of good QBs come to mobile and do worse than they usually do. And then some come down here and light it up. There are a ton of factors that go into a two week game prep like that. I don’t know how he will do in the NFL. He might never play a down. I don’t really care. But for him to get the brunt of the blame for Alabama’s down year is comical . It’s typical from fans though. Blame it on the QB.
