I honestly think it helps by checking the processors. I got a Buddy that does a lot and they want take it without your number. Most people don't have the time and knowledge to do a deer correctly. Dang if it ain't getting harder the older you get. I know a couple of guys that can't stomach to gut one even Valid answer ^^ What about when I grab my kids phones and my wifes and just put my 6th buck on their game check so i have a number for the processor? I'm not saying it's right but, it is providing a number of deer killed that the guy thats killing 5,6,7,8,etc and processing behind the barn is not.

Knowing how many deer are killed doesn't tell you anything about the number of deer not killed.
Knowing when, where, or even what time, most deer are killed, provides more information about hunters than any useful information about deer.

I knew a guy in Arkansas that bought all his kinfolk license so he could have their physical tags. He didn’t mind doing that cause he liked killing deer. Shot a 30-378 Wthby cause he liked shooting a long distance across fields and practiced year around. Feds got him for shooting out of season geese and few other charges. Lost his license for 5 years and liked to travel to hunt and those reciprocal states would sell him a license either. Point is, If there is a will there is a way.

How exactly is the state or anyone else supposed to get an accurate comprehensive count of the deer population of the entire state of Alabama??? Details please

Oh we moved on from deer season to game laws. Here's one i would make. Make processors illegal. If you can't clean and process a deer you shouldn't be hunting. If you have time to hunt you should have time to clean and process it. Also make it illegal to give away game meat. If you want it you go kill it. If you shoot it you eat it. Why can someone get paid to clean and process a deer with no regulation. But I can't do a hog or cow?
