Everybody with a hunting license must trap 10 coons before allowed to hunt deer or turkey. Possums too. Game check them with a dated picture.

Doe harvest set by county. Wanna kill more go to a different county, tags issued by county, high fine for not tagging or any illegal form. 3 week rifle season. Longer primitive weapon season. Two buck limit.

For a site that's awash in conservatives, in this post there's certainly a lot of desire for significant government restriction, laws, fees and punishments.

I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

I'm on board with the "must trap 10 coons" requirement, too, and would add that killing 10 coyotes and 15 hogs earns an extra buck tag.

Clem, this is a flawed perspective. Regulations already exist. You are already being told what is and is not allowable. I’d just like to see that regulation better serve the resource. Also down with coon and coyote killin’

Really don't think it is about the season. Heck, if a deer had antlers and I had't shot one some years I would have went in March if I was holding out for one. Take it I never took more than two bucks in a season or one doe. Never been a need for me to shoot one most years. This is the first year I can say in three different counties I have hunted in I actually seen mutiple does or a doe on almost every visit. Yesterday saw a buck following two does in an area I have not seen a buck for years. It's all about folks just need to learn if there is a low density to not shoot every deer they see. I would like to see some WMA's and tracts of private split up and cut back on hunting on the years of a low population until the numbers go up. I learn a long time ago how much damage just one hunter can do to a buck or doe population. Trigger restraint is the key. In a lot of areas, especially those with little or no crops, we just need to find a way to grow more vegetation that will provide more food during the winter months or supplement with something higher in protein than corn.

Marsh you bring up an interesting topic. How is the State determining herd size? By counting dead deer (Game Check), which is stooooopid.

Let’s correct that statement. “By counting an unknown percentage of the deer killed”. They have no clue what the actual game check compliance rate is. Zero, Nada, None. It, like most everything the AGFF does with regard to hunting, is simply a WAG based on what the feel.

I agree, not looking much like a bunch of big Guvment haters. Knowing the history of Chuck Sykes & Co, better leave well enough alone. If you own your hunting property , you can make your own rules and regs.

It, like most everything the AGFF does with regard to hunting, is simply a WAG based on what the feel. Very true. Even if they had 100% compliance though, it still wouldn't give them a number. For example, I own 125 acres. I have not killed a deer off of that property in years simply because I haven't wanted to. (true story) I have a lifetime license and a game check number so they are seeing zero deer reported by me. Now, based on zero deer killed on that property over the past few years, how many deer do I have there?

Give us the actual numbers of the deer population and the actual numbers of total deer killed and some of us reasonable hunters may put some stock to your percentages. Until then anything you post is totally flawed.
