Make a resident liscense $500. Non Resident $1000 Baiting permit $1500 Season runs Dec 1st - Jan 31st Statewide. Method of choice (Bow, Gun, Knife, Slingshot, etc) Make buck tags $500 ea. Buy as many as you want when you buy your liscense. No rollover. $5k fine if in violation. No dogs Draw for public land hunts
Don’t get me wrong, I like the extremism, but it’d be wrong to make it all money based and price residents out. Keep non-res high though. $1000 for an Alabama buck? Makes sense.

Move Zone D dates back in line with the rest of the state, too hot and rifle pressure spooks the deer right before rut. Crossbows only allowed during rifle season.

The state should provide unlimited bags of corn for every hunter.

Cut the season on gun season to one month. Bow stays the same. Out of state is a draw system and expensive.

Limit land lease or ownership to 5 acres max. Enforce mandatory baiting laws..everyone must bait. No tracking dogs unless the owner is an Auburn fan. Titties behind every tree.

The state should provide unlimited bags of corn for every hunter. Made of biodegradable materials, so i can let 'em fly out my pick 'em up truck.

End the Dadgum season Jan 31 in Zone A and end it Jan 10 in Zone D. I would be fine if they split the season and took a break on modern firearms for Zone A around the first week or two of December.
No antler restrictions. They are useless. If you make it 8 point or better you’re simply delaying the slaughter of bucks from year 1 to year 2. Does nothing to protect bucks really and leads to lower antler scores over time. All the data recorded in states and areas it’s been tried has reported a decline in overall antler scores over time with point restrictions.

Shorten the season to 70 days and just one season no special seasons. Hunt with that you like during season.

Trying to get the average “8 point or better” hunting club to understand this is a fun time at annual meetings.

On a side note - the primary rut just got rolling here locally and we are nearing the end of season fastly. I had forgotten how these areas were getting seriously screwed with a Jan 31 end date.

What’s the reason behind moving it to the back end? folks chasing them with a bow for a month+ before rifle season puts pressure on them. If they are left alone, from the time greenfield are planted until opening day they will be all over the fields unaware of what is about to hit them.

The split would make for a fresh gun season. I’d still like a two buck limit in there.

We only have 3 people that bow hunt in our club. The deer don’t start acting pressured with us until the gun guys start getting in the woods the weekend before youth and start running cameras and putting up climbers and scouting. I see your point though. We just don’t have enough bow hunters to pressure them I guess. It’s like a light switch when all the SxS and four wheelers get here though. During late bow season I’ve had does watch me climb down in my climber and not even blow as I walk off 35 yards away. Last weekend I had a doe pick me off in a tripod with net around it with a magnolia as a back drop at 75 yards. She blew and took off and blew for 30 minutes down in the bottom. They definitely act differently.
