If you could snap your fingers and make any changes to deer season that you wanted to, what would you do? For me:
-shorten rifle season
-limit the number of does a single hunter can kill during season
-put an antler point minimum on buck’s with the possible exception of it being a person’s first deer (not sure how that could be proved or enforced)
-do away with game check

Well if we're going to wish...
I would move Christmas and Thanksgiving to summertime, so they stop screwing up the deer season.
I would make night poaching a felony and Capital offense.
I would eliminate all dogs period. Running dogs, tracking dogs, all dogs.
I would eliminate all hunting leases. Only landowners would be allowed to hunt.
Let's see.... Awwwe hell I'd just make myself supreme ruler and fix everything.
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

Shorten overall season by 50%
9 to 14 day gun season outside the rut
2 buck limit (one with firearm, one with other)
Game check, tags, and $5k first offense fine
Does as per state recommendations

14 day rifle season starting thanksgiving day
2 bucks per year, 1 with rifle
5 does per year unless restricted by state for areas with lower densities.
Find a way to enforce a 4 year old minimum on bucks
Add triple or quadruple the amount of game wardens we have to enforce the rules.

Baiting permit $1500
Season runs Dec 1st - Jan 31st Statewide. Method of choice (Bow, Gun, Knife, Slingshot, etc)
Make buck tags $500 ea. Buy as many as you want when you buy your liscense. No rollover. $5k fine if in violation.
No dogs
Draw for public land hunts
Trackers must have permit per county ( allows them to finish off deer)

I’m ok with current limits and restrictions but you have to increase the fine amounts exponentially. To the point that even an outlaw has to think twice.
Selfishly, close it from mid Dec through the 31st when Christmas and work has me fouled up. It would help my stress level and fomo.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the extremism, but it’d be wrong to make it all money based and price residents out. Keep non-res high though.

No planting green fields it’s baiting. Save your green field and on the 3rd Friday- Saturday in February all must meet in a casino have a damn good time. (Spend our green field money)
Slugs only month of January damn this sitting on a power line watch 2 football fields worth of ground and slinging a bullet that far.
February take it or leave it. Like the rest of the year if you don’t want to go stay home.
