I realize the quality, man those prices. I buy secondhand on Facebook or one of their big sales 2-3x per year.

Speaking of secondhand, I just posted a Sitka Fanatic Jacket in the classifieds. Asking $200 and is like new, it’s an XL and I bought a 2XL this season and haven’t been wearing this one.

When I say silkies it’s really just those dry for long underwear. Very thin and light weight I wear the wick as my upper body base layer regardless of weather due to moisture wicking capabilities. If it’s real cold I’ll stack a heavier merino wool on top of it as well and go from there. I wear black ovis merino wool long Johns as my lower body base layer if needed.

I’ve had First Lite baselayers. I like Minus33 baselayers better, though. I’ve got some Sitka pieces. The Fanatic jacket would be way better without that goofy front zipper and some other “technical” features.

I’ve been running first lite base layers (and outer layers for early season) with a Sitka stratus bib and jacket set. I went with the Sitka outers because at the time first lite didn’t make their outerwear with a wind proof membrane but I think their new stuff has it now. Went yesterday when the high was 27° and hung out in my saddle from 1:00 till dark with the wind whipping and I never got uncomfortable. What I had layered was FL Furnace bottoms and top with a FL wick long sleeve under that, FL 308 fleece lined pants, FL source vest, FL tundra neck gaiter, FL beanie, and my Sitka Stratus set. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/z0bIewk.jpeg)

You always take selfies when you hunt? Sometimes. I’m blessed with a good looking wife who, for some reason, likes for me send pics of my ugly mug to her

I wear KUIU, I hunt the mountains so I need something light weight that I can hike in with. I run the proximity line and it’s absolutely fantastic, I hunted this past weekend and never got cold, wore a base layer and the proximity pants, base layer and super fleece hoodie and my jacket and stayed warm all weekend. I’ve been very impressed with it and for how I hunt (hiking in, sitting long hours) it works.
Their attack pants are the best bow hunting pants ive ever worn.
We are not perfect, only forgiven!!!

Sitka Fanatic is the real deal. I didn’t believe it until I bought bibs and jacket. Throw in the neck gaiter and boggin and it’s toasty. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/7ZgFv2hX/IMG-0428.jpg)

I use the Sitka 40% off code every year and buy a couple pieces a year. Next year I’m gonna buy the Finatic jacket and bibs. Everything else I have is awesome.

I wore my Carhartt Insulated Bibs and Jacket when it snowed and got so hot I had to unzip.... degrees in the 20's...... I had on merino wool base layer, Fleece Drake Waterfowl Underwear, wool LL Bean pants and shirt.
I was burning up.
For Reference.
1200 Gram Rubber Boots with a single Smartwool sock.
I don't do aerobics when I hunt FYI I try to sit still in a tree for a long time the key is not moving around a whole lot. That's why I don't need expensive hiking clothes.
Personally I think the gray Sitka Camo is aweful I hunt with other people and they wear that stuff and you can see them 1/2 a mile coming through some pine woods they need to darken it up some it is too light colored even in a tree it stands out like Neon sign. I am not a huge believer in Camo but I don't wear light colored clothes that's just common sense I thought.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

First Lite- I've had base layers for years and they're great! Been looking at some of the new outer layers, but haven't pulled the trigger.
Sitka stratus- mainly worn the Stratus set the last 5 years and have hunted comfortably from 0-60 degrees layering with sitka heavy base layer, fanatic hoodie or vest. I really like this set-up for stand hunting, but I hate the elevated II pattern.
Kuiu- the attack pants are probably my favorite pants for warm to mild temps. Also, have a down jacket that is legit!
