Reckon why Benelli has been able to make and sell a successful 20 gauge inertia autoloader for years and years, but Browning can't get their A5 20 to market? Nothing but delay after delay after delay.

My friend who is a Browning dealer says he wouldn't be surprised if he never gets any A5 20 gauges in his shop to sell; says that Browning has always promised more new models than they have delivered.

They've looked good on the Browning website for over a year, but no actual guns are available for sale in the US. Browning is saying maybe in late Spring 2025 or Summer 2025 -- maybe.

Too many good Italian scatterguns built to worry about what Browning will or won’t do.

Yeah been waiting myself. Bought my daughter a browning silver micro 20ga with 24" barrel.
I liked it so much I bought myself a silver 20ga with 28" barrel Saturday

My neighbor and nephew bought a Silver 20 gauge 24" barrel this past fall. It's a fine, sleek gun. He was very consistent on clay targets with it right out of the box. (I'm much better at throwing the targets than shooting at them, so I threw for him.) If I understand correctly, the Silver is essentially what Browning called the Gold line back in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Yeah, the Silver is a better gun than the New A5 in any gauge by a mile. Even those 20s are hard to find.

I know the Silver is a gas operated gun, but it doesn't use a rubber o-ring like the old Remington 1100s to cycle, does it?

Take that money you can't spend on a new A5 and get an OG A5.

I don’t think so. I’d have to go look but I don’t remember there being one.

That O Ring on the 1100s were ok until you put it on upside down.

Very good advice. Weight is the only downside but you get a better gun.

Supposedly Hunter models are shipping now and only the Upland model available this year. No Wicked Wing or synthetic models for this year. I can't wrap my head around how bad Browning has fumbled the A5 20 coming to market

Haven't they been promising an A5 20 for like 17 years?

Visited 4 different browning dealers Saturday and not one had a clue when they would get one.
That's another reason I bought the silver 20ga. That being said I bought a limited run a5 24" bottomland camo from greentop sporting goods in Virginia before Christmas. If your familiar with the browning as you know it's not offered in 24". As of right know only 400 made.

No, despite being begged to produce one they haven't until last year. And, we're all still waiting on first shipments

That really is good advice. I've watched several in excellent condition on GunBroker. A pre-1976 Belgian A5 20 will sell for $2,500+ in really good condition, and a post-1976 Japanese/Miroku in the same condition will go for $2,100 or so. Add to that Alabama sales tax, seller shipping fees, and FFL transfer fee. A fellow could have nearly $3,000 invested in a 20 gauge.

It's a lot of money for an old gun, but those OG A5 shotguns are far better made with hand-fitted machined steel parts than any modern gun.

Yessir. And they will appreciate even more over time. A far better investment for a far better shotgun.

I’m not real fond of the old cler clunk cycling but that are reliable. I’d guess once sued to that cycling it’d make a good one but using wooden gun in the mud and water is rough on the wood.

I’m trying to figure out if they’re having the same issues they did with the new A5 inertia 13 gauge. They had to replace the bolt heads on some and I’m not sure they figured out exactly what the problem was.

I don't know why you'd want an inertia gun over a gas gun

We will burn that bridge when we get there
