I do not doubt Frankie and the conversation he had with gw. But many of them do not know the laws either. I had one try to write me a ticket for hunting with 00 buckshot until we looked the regs up together on his phone. I feel like a second opinion is in order

be a good question at the next meeting .

I’ve killed several hogs and one buck with TSS BB and #1.
Homemade stuff. They have something like 60 pellets in a 1.5 oz load.
They don’t bleed well because of small holes but it breaks bones and shuts them down quite well.

Take a sharpie and write "I identify as buckshot" on the side of the TSS. Should cover it.

as long as its .240" in dia it would be legal .

What if it's not? I know factory OO is usually .32 cal when a 00 is supposed to be 33 cal. and factory #1 is often 28 cal instead of the 30 cal that its supposed to be. What if you open up a #4 buck shell and its actually 23 caliber? It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they aren't smaller. I guess if they are, they're not legal.

I shot deer with it. The holes, though smaller, don't look a whole lot different than a 00 hole. The main difference I find is the bones it breaks that the lead 00 doesn't. When it shatters bones, even at long range, that shattered bone creates a more impressive wound channel.

Buckshot77. I can't answer things I don't know. I'm just saying what I was told . T shot is not buck shot and only buckshot is legal. You load shells with pellets thats .240 in size or bigger you good to go

There's another thread that got me thinking, does anyone who don't run dogs really still hunt with buckshot?

I run dogs. And use a shotgun about 3/4 the time. When not running dogs I will sometimes use it.
