Put in more time than I ever have, and haven't seen a shooter yet. Frustrating! All my mature camera deer are still nocturnal, mostly 3-4am, and the patterns I've used to kill bucks for 30 years aren't working. Anyone else having a tough go? Or am I just being a whiny little b****??

my does are just now appearing in daylight, early and late, and just now showing a bit of tarsal stain, on the bigger does, in far south montgomery county. i sure hope to see bucks in daylight in another week or so.

I haven’t seen a rack buck any bigger than my son’s best kill from last year. The neighbors been letting his daughter and wife shoot ever little buck that comes through. Proud for them I guess, we just haven’t seen any 3 year old bucks at all. Other 2 neighbors haven’t either. Close to 800acres spot

Had it all come together on opening weekend when a decent 7 pt and small 4 pt came out about 85 yards to my right. I told my son to wait because he has killed a couple like the 7 pt and we knew that those deer have been grouped up with a monster 9 pt and a big 11.

I told him to give it 20 minutes to see if the others showed because I just knew one of the better deer was going to show up and we still had a good hour of light left.

10 minutes into the 20 a sounder of 8 douchebag hogs comes barreling through and runs everything off. He's still a little pissy that I 'highly suggested' he wait to pull the trigger, but I still think I made the right decision.

Haven't seen any of those deer since except on camera in the middle of the friggin night. At least they were all still alive as of last Thursday.

You’re obviously not putting out enough corn.
Or you’re putting out too much corn.
Definitely one or the other.

Tagged out December 24th...aahahaha! 8pt., broken up 11pt., and another fine 8 pt. Not bragging tho. If the rut hasn't started yet, they'll come around. It is kinda weird to be tagged out so early. Makes me feel like three bucks aren't enough. I shot a doe during bow season. But no more does now because they should all be pregnant on my lease. Thought about hunting some wma's for does, but if a giant buck came out, I'd feel like I wanted to shoot him. Then if I'd didn't shoot him, I'd feel bad (although that's the legal and responsible thing to do)...so, so far, I'm just staying home getting chores done. May hunt the bonus buck hunt on one of the WMAs in Feb.

I’m in the lower Tallapoosa section and I haven’t seen a rack buck in daylight. The rut should be starting any day now. Had a spike bumping does last week

I was in the same boat, mid december until end of the month, hunted in MS and AL, didn't see a deer of any type for several weeks......I made another trip to MS last week and had a lot more success, will be back at in AL starting next week, should be prime time rut action where I hunt.

For the first time this season at 4:50 PM, I saw a basket rack buck chase a doe. Hopefully, it's starting in Verbena.

I start hunting around Christmas and im already tired of it. My son has really hunted hard, much harder than me. We have quite a few shootable bucks. Just cant get on them. Wrong place wrong time. Missing them by a few minutes. Discouraging to say the least but everybody around here is going through about the same thing. If you look at deer hunting as a game, the deer are definately winning.

As a good friend of mine used to say, we are hunters about 3% of the time.... deer are deer 100% of the time.

I am also having a tough time. I think this is the first year since I was a teen that I haven't killed one. Yet!
