I have no idea about the stuff above, but I shoot the Hornady ELD-X. I haven’t had a problem out of my 6.5. I shot a doe a month ago, she spun and ran. Thought she would be dead in the field, she actually made it a good distance. Hit her behind the leg, must have it bone and came out gut on the other side. It looked like she spray painted the sage grass with red.

Hornady did an amazing job hyping that round, and those high BC bullets are really impressive on sight-in day, but IT'S TOO SLOW. Use 120gr or less bullet to get the speed up, then you'll be back to usual deer rifle results.
Also, if you take out the heart, it don't pump no more blood out. Don't shoot it. It's the best meat on the deer anyway.

I don’t care if a deer runs or not. I don’t get the fascination with drt.
I’ve used solid bullets and ballistic tips with great results, but ballistic tips do way more damage.

The ablr is a pretty soft bullet. Fast expansion, moderate penetration. I have been shooting Accubond in my 30-06 for a while. It does a good job killing them, but much like your experience. There is not much exit and very little blood. Most of the deer I shot no trailing needed. But still sometimes, they are going to run, and when they do I want to be able to find it. If you want a big hole out the back go to something a bit harder. In my 30-06 I changed from 165 Accubond to 180 Fusion this year. last deer I shot looked like a seen from a horror movie. Blood everywhere. I am happy with this change so far.
Check velocity on a chrono. That is the only way to know what you are getting. That is a really short barrel especially for small bore like a 6.5. Might need to enlist the help from a handloading friend to see if you can get the velocities up.
If you want them to go down fast. Shoot more towards shoulder. That is a safe shot, but they are usually going to run a bit hit back like that. That’s the opposite experience I’ve had with regular Accubonds. It’s very, very rare for me to not get a bloodtrail and for it to start at the shot site. That’s across several different cartridges.

I shot 5 deer with 6.5 creedmore 130 grain in the Accubond LR at 2800. with similar results. It has a is faster expansion than the original AB. I have not changed bullets with that rifle, but I do not hunt with it, bought that one for my wife, but I had to test it for her lol.

I’m not trying to argue either. I’m just saying that I’ve had different results in case folks read this researching bullets. I’ve used the regular Accubond in 25-06, 270, 30-06, 7-08, 308, 7 SAUM, 7 mag, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, and hoping to use one in a 223 before the season goes out.

I shoot a creedmore and both my granddaughter do also . Best advice a friend gave me was to use 140 grain federal fusion . Granddaughter made a bad gut shot and deer still dint travel 100 yards . These bullets seem to cause massive trauma just like the picture of the 30-06 in the previous post .
