I’ve hauled a big 6 pt in the trunk of a Maxima. I still remember the look on the guys face at the processor when I pulled and he asked could he help me. I was like yeah, just dropping a deer off and popped the trunk. We both just started laughing. I've stuffed a doe on three separate occasions in my Sonata with plenty of room for my rifle. My first buck when it quarterd in a ruck sack last year. I don't drag anymore being on public 100% of the time. I'll make 2 trips before I get stuck or drag another deer. Your learning pilgrim. Ofcourse every solution brings a new problem. My back has reminded me that just because I have a rucksack that fits a chair, a pop up, a lil buddy heater, snacks, water, first aid kid, laser finder, extra ammo, tripod, compass, rope, etc... doesn't mean I have to bring everything.

Last guy I pulled out was a Hispanic guy that mowed lawns. He was trying to come up a steep hill in a Toyota truck hauling a heavy mower on a trailer. He apparently started spinning or killed motor being in wrong gear and went backwards into a tree. I had to come to my house which is about a block and get a chain. Hooked to him and pulled him off the tree. It’s no fun being stuck.

WELP, I finally bought a new truck 4WD. I found a good deal on a 23 Nissan Titan. We had a brief retirement ceremony for the Sonata at trade-in. No more going up hills "ass first".

Old Alabama mud and ice can stop you in your tracks and tear up some good stuff. Clay and ice can be slicker than snot. No way I would put a good truck in certain spots. Seen too many doziers, high jacked up 4wd's, and tractors stuck in every type of dirt imaginable. Remember a young guy buying a nice jacked up Nissan. That thing was sharp. The small river he attempted to cross during a drought had some holes. Water came in the cab. Nissan had the great idea to put the ECM under the seat at the time. Took him about six months to get it back and it was only 2 months old. Seen one of those big dually 100hp JD's stuck in a field in black mud. It had to sit for over a month until it dried out. Seen some guys trying to fix some mud holes get a bulldozer stuck, mud above the tracks. It sat for over a month. Always remember to check the spots out in the dry season cause some folks wallow those holes out. Remember a 4wd has a reverse too. You not in Texas anymore.

We had one of the fellas in a camp I used to be in get off in a wet branch in a tractor.
It sat there 3 months drying out before we chained logs to the back tires and walked it out.
