I went almost all season last year never seeing one. This year has been different. They've been all over Cahaba WMA. They checked me today and yesterday. That doesn't count my friend getting checked and times I passed them up driving by. Out biggest problem is kids thinking the WMA is an offroad course for Daddys 4x4/target range/lover's lane. I tell them I'm happy to see them every time. Last rifle hunt I had two groups of teenagers mudding all around me. They only took a break to shoot beer bottles. Don't get me started about the dirt bike kids.
What we really need to ask is where the hell are the National Forest Rangers? I never see those guys. They are really making an effort to stop all the nonsense on the Helena side of Cahaba. I was checked opening day of bow season by a warden and that’s the first time I’ve ever been checked out there in 8 years of hunting out there.

I can guarantee you that the number of bucks being poached by night hunters isnt even in the same ball park as the amount being killed over the limit during the daytime…… You might be right but why do you think a bunch of folks are killing more than 3 bucks?

Apparently we have a Gal down here in Mobile now, haven't seen her, but she was seen at one of our gates during Turkey Season trying to get in by the locks, but the old one's have been changed, and guess she didn't wanna walk in lol... You need her info. She’s knocked on my brother door last year. She’s on maternity leave right now Alledgedlly or was beginning of season. So you gonna be an Uncle Jeremy again?

They kill more than 3 because they are outlaws. Anyone with proof someone kills more than three needs to get involved and drop a dime on them. That’s the only way it will get better. One game warden can’t be everywhere at once.

They kill more than 3 because they are outlaws. Anyone with proof someone kills more than three needs to get involved and drop a dime on them. That’s the only way it will get better. One game warden can’t be everywhere at once. Your preacher will shoot multiple bucks in a day or over the 3 limit……It dang sure isnt just the hardcore outlaws……We don’t see shooting over the limit the same as spotlighting even though both bucks count as minus one and have the same impact…….The system is just too easy to beat for anyone to be worried about it…..A lot of folks don’t even bat an eye to it…….As far as “dropping a dime” on folks….I can assure you that I wont be doing any dropping…..If you want to change stuff like this then fix the system and do the things needed to enforce it…….

Back to the topic of Game Wardens...I rarely see them myself. But last weekend I saw one in Aliceville that had pulled over an SUV with a nice buck on a trailer hitch rack. Thought it was a State Trooper with the lights flashing. I assume he was checking license and Game Check.
I did get checked turkey hunting one morning. Turkey gobbling in a bottom. Set up perfectly and started calling. Warden comes sneaking up the hill from the direction of the gobbler. I wasn't exactly happy he messed up my hunt but I was ANGRY about the dangerous situation he created. If I had shot that guy, it would have been hard to prove it wasn't on purpose.

I caught a Sunday school teacher trespassing and poaching a few days ago… Exactly…..the point of that was that folks from all walks of life will shoot over the limit…..not just the barefoot, trailer park outlaws that folks usually associate with night hunters……

I've been in 3 (2 in Choctaw and last one was in Dallas county) clubs since i was 18 that had a Preacher and they hunted more and told more BS than any others in the Club, and nobody would say nothing so guess why they done what they done! But that joke about the Teepee was true, there's a feller on here that hunted in that same club 😉 Alrighty back to the Game Wardens
