I went almost all season last year never seeing one. This year has been different. They've been all over Cahaba WMA. They checked me today and yesterday. That doesn't count my friend getting checked and times I passed them up driving by. Out biggest problem is kids thinking the WMA is an offroad course for Daddys 4x4/target range/lover's lane. I tell them I'm happy to see them every time. Last rifle hunt I had two groups of teenagers mudding all around me. They only took a break to shoot beer bottles. Don't get me started about the dirt bike kids.

What we really need to ask is where the hell are the National Forest Rangers? I never see those guys.



They are really making an effort to stop all the nonsense on the Helena side of Cahaba. I was checked opening day of bow season by a warden and that’s the first time I’ve ever been checked out there in 8 years of hunting out there.
