I heard here on Aldeer that if you've got a .243..... You can just take the cartridge out of the rifle and just throw it at the deer you'll get a complete pass through as long as it has a 42 grain Barnes stuck in the end of it.
I'm skeptical. I think I'd be more comfortable throwing something with a smaller bullet since I threw out my right shoulder drinking and might need to use a slingshot to get the velocity up.
Thoughts?
Why go through all the effort of throwing the cartridge when all you have to do is just show a 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge to the deer and they just fall over dead. That's the safest way to kill them if you actually shoot one it will go through and kill another one 19 miles away but only with an ELD-X bullet.
Keep your booger hooker off the bang switch.

i shot those old silver tips in 30-30 , 270 , 30-06 and i liked them . i tried then new ones in a 7mag with the black coating and they wouldn't group on a 12"x12" target at a 100 . the gun was shooting less than 1/2" groups . I had great accuracy with both in 257 Wthby and 7mm STW. Sub MOA and the 257 Wthby had over a 1000 rounds thru it with that bullet. From H1000, H4831SC but ended up with Reloader 22 being the choice for both. Some were 5 shot groups, not just 3. Had friends doing moly coating at the time but the lubalox coating wasn’t ever and issue. Both rounds were running over 3450 for averages.
