Our top performer (based in a different state) has been shafted for a while now. Apparently they decided he was making too much money, several months back, so they cut his commission percentage a while ago. Just his. He told me yesterday that he had obtained an attorney and they have been letting the company hang themselves. Said he would be filing suit after the first of the year. Should get interesting.



What would be the basis for a lawsuit? Unless they are breaching a contract aren't companies still allowed to dictate pay and employees are free to leave if they don't like the compensation? I don't agree with cutting commissions but am trying to understand where the company could be held legally liable unless they breached a contract.
