Nothing like a good ol’ year end company Christmas conference call to tell us how we did. Third year in a row to have record breaking numbers. 20% more revenue than last year. 6% ahead of budget this year. Cutting all outside salesman’s commissions percentages by 25%. Wait…WHAT??!! Merry Christmas…talk to you next year. What a kick in the nuts.

Do we work for the same company? This sounds eerily familiar

I’m in a “different side of the spectrum” business that has done exactly this… record revenue, prices up, 3 raises in 5 years but I’m making less money than when I started…. Hmmm cut cut cut

It felt good to hand out Christmas bonuses today. It was a down year, we and hit a few financial bumps, but my staff did a great job this year. Merry Christmas to all!

We handed out everyone's Christmas bonus last week, even the lady that comes in and cleans twice a week got one.

Every pay plan is designed to benefit the company. I’ve worked for a number of publicly traded companies - when revenue and profits are up - they adjust your pay plan in a way that you have to exceed a higher quota to make the same. And if the company misses analyst expectations- you can expect to see a RIF as a cost cutting measure.

Well did you at least get in the cheese of the month club? Seriously though, if that's how they want to do business, my remaining time with that company would be short. That's not how you keep good people.

So you outdid last year and even ahead and the way they reward you is take away your money? I’d either ask for a raise to supplement what they took away or leave! If they don’t value you, take your skills somewhere else.

That sounds like a union. I thought the majority of Aldeerians were against unions.
