Wasn’t daylight savings time extended under Bush to help stimulate the economy. More daylight in the evenings have people out and about and spending money.

If we stayed on Standard Time it wouldn’t get dark at 5 PM in the summer like it does now. As stated before due to the tilt of the earth the amount of daylight (sunup to sundown) varies by season. This time of year daylight hours are shorter and it will get dark around 5- 5:30. On Standard Time in the summer it would get dark around 7 - 7:30 ish because the amount of daylight hours is longer. The amount of daylight has nothing to do with a clock or how we measure time.

Some of yall remind me of having to argue with female members of the household on the principles of how an AC thermostat works.

Sunrise 8:00. Plenty time for breakfast and potty before hitting the woods and water.

In the summer time I can get done around five and still come home and unload equipment and maintenance everything and get loaded for the next day before it gets dark. You know he's not adding hours of daylight to the winter months, right? Just changes what you see when you look at a clock... Start your day an hour earlier if that's an option and it helps. My guys here at the shop do 630-4 in the winter under Standard time and normally 730-530 under Daylight Savings, but a lot of days start at 7 or before. Coming in at 630 instead of 730 helps with productivity and they like getting home before dark every day.

As a person who does not get to set his own hours, I prefer the daylight in the evening time. That way I get to take care of things outside when I get home. Yes, I know it's not adding any daylight to the day but just changing the time on the clock you get it. Those of you that like it getting dark at 5:00 in the evening obviously don't work for someone else or don't do any outside work when you get home in the evenings.
