No black bear season here in Alabama. It is a misdemeanor to kill one, go figure.


My take is that he didn’t steal the deer from the landowner, he stole the opportunity to take that deer from the landowner (and others in the surrounding area). The landowner also possesses (or did) exclusive hunting access on his own land. He also stole the “exclusive” part from the landowner.



And stole his peace and enjoyment. The deer he poached pales in comparison to what the trespasser actually stole.
