Wish judges in Alabama would Hammer poachers like that. Ohio has laws in place to provide for such punishment. Honestly, I think it’s ridiculous, if it had been a doe who would have cared?

It seems a little bit ridiculous to me. I get he needs to be punished but 50 grand in fines and 180 days in jail over a damn deer
We will burn that bridge when we get there

I don’t know, he didn’t just shoot after dark or out of season, he went on to private property to do it. Pretty high fine, but don’t go onto another person’s property to commit a crime. I think part of the issue is the deer involved. To keep people from poaching a deer like that, you have to have massive penalties as a deterrent.

We have people doing a lot worse and getting off with a lot less. We should get tough again on those committing those more serious crimes, not water down laws in other areas to lower the standard.
"Why do you ask"?
Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

Yet some meth head can come on my private property and steal my belongings and get a slap on the wrist. Where's the massive penalties to deter that?
The true mark of a man is not how he conducts himself during times of prosperity, but how he conducts himself during times of adversity.
