This is a spinoff of the ghey firefighters thread…….Does “hazing” serve any useful purpose??.....Why do men feel the need for it??.....I can see where high schoolers would do it just out of immaturity but why do grown men do it??.....I got hazed a lot as a 9th grader by the senior football players....I dont know that I can say I benefited from it in any way......I’m 45 now and just don’t think I could tolerate much of the stupid stuff anymore before I’d be taking the antennae off the truck….
Folks that know don't shoot old does........

Some of the hazing stories from the old Steel Mill and Goodyear tire and rubber plant were unbelievable. They would be put in prison for that stuff now.

I come to work, i like to cut up, but crossin the line and bein malicious is not right..ive seen it. I try to teach and help new people, not make them hate their life..an some cant take a joke..they wanna knock down drag out fight…cant have that either. Hazing, IMHO, is a necessary thing in the military/LEO world. It builds trust between buddies and weeds out those that can't handle schit that is going to be placed in front of them that will be 10000X worse than a little hazing. If you're a dude and you can't handle some hazing in those 2 fields, you need to find different fields of work.

Our high school hazing stopper when we had a guy killed. Seen a very intelligent fella with a big heart get hazed to the point he ended his own life.. don’t like it, don’t care for it..

In the aircraft hydraulic shop i worked in the USAF, when we needed a hydraulic line, we’d just send the new troop down to the sheetmetal shop to get some fallopian tubing.

My FL retired from the old goodyear plant years ago, He told me They hazed folks out there pretty good, said you wouldn't believe what them jokers got away with and wouldn't ever make it in todays world...  One haze they had, He said a group of them would ambush you and hold you down to try and PICK you. They would holler PICK, PICK and some ol gal would come from out of nowwhere and run her hand down the front of your britches and snatch a wad of pubes out....  He said she was a rough looking ol gal too  but she loved doing it...  He said, he thought that she got around a pretty good bit down there at work.... I said "You think?"...

Had a guy at work started saying some ugly rude things about my wife and he had been doing the same thing to other men their . I told him in no uncertain terms that I did not play that game but he was not really convinced that I meant it but when I finished with him the second time he was a believer .

Me and my big bro use to prank each other and i was youngest in the neighborhood so i would get abused r picked on. Made me tougher
The young guys got put in urinal in football - kind of a right of passage. I got to jump a grade in football and go to varsity early so i kind of missed that
Older age or once out of school - respect your fellow man. Work hazing would not go well - too many rules and safety pushed to forefront to try that crap now. Who ever does it now at work could find a lot of trouble
I heard lot of stories of hazing out at the mill my dad worked in when i was in school. Hitting guys with water from elevated position with water hose etc. did to all the rookies - would not fly now
