YouTube TV has always worked hard to offer you the content you love, delivered the way you want, with features that make it easy to enjoy the best of live TV.

‌To keep up with the rising cost of content and the investments we make in the quality of our service, we’re updating our monthly price from $72.99/month to $82.99/month starting January 13, 2025.

Always expected price increases each year or two but this trend is not good.

It was a fair deal at 49.99. I don't watch enough TV to justify any more than that.

X has a tv platform like Youtube tv. I might check into it. I only use you tube tv for football and occasional viewing at most. But the constant increases and terrible content is not worth it. They are pricing themselves out. Now they are more expensive than cable.

Plain and simple, it's because they can. Excluding dropping "tv" entirely, because let's be honest, most households aren't going to do that, what are your other options? Even at the new price, it's still cheaper than your average cable or satellite plan and it's a LOT more convenient.

The new trend or buzzword in Corporate America is "growth". It's no longer enough to remain profitable year-on-year, companies now feel like they need to grow year-on-year (often with 15-20% growth being the goal). And they know they have the American consumer over a barrel because there's no escaping it. A consumer, in most cases, can't bail on a company for doing it because the competition is doing the same thing.

We did the whole cord cutting thing to “save money” now we have YouTubetv, Netflix, Disney, Max, Peacock, Prime….. I don’t even want to know how much it is but I’m sure it’s double what I paid for DirecTV.

No thanks. That's more than I ever paid for cable. I finally cut that cord last year

I got the same notification and I just cut DirecTV out a couple months ago when the discount they gave me last year expired and they wouldn't extend it. With the increase, it is still less than the DirecTV would be, but dang it I am tired of the dang costs going up no matter what we switch to...we just don't watch enough TV for the cost. However, YouTube TV does offer the option to "pause" it, so if you only want to pay for it for football season, you should be able to pause it until then.

I think in the past year, the only time we had the TV on was during some hurricane coverage or if the grandkids were here and it probably did not add up to a week in total.

Frndly TV is where it's at iffin you don't watch sports and hate modern TV shows. I have youtubeTV (I got the price increase notice also) but only for College football and the kids cartoon stuff. Frndly is 80%+ of my tv viewing. Seems like I paid about $80 for a year.

I only keep it on for football. I'll shut it off after that until about September.

I watch more TV than I should. Old westerns. Cooking. Sports. Pay way too much. So be it. 🤷‍♂️

I pay $20 a month for Philo TV and then Pluto TV is free. That's probably 300+ channels I guess.

Andy Griffith, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, Beverly Hillbillies and hundreds more.

I don't need anything better.

I wonder if they’ve considered the ramifications of it going from $72.99 to $0.00?
