I’ve done several other led projects since then and a led cob strip is something I might use if I did this again today. Using a cob strip might eliminate the diffuser since it’s a pretty uniform stretch of light. You can see the underneath of our cabinets from a couple of angles, so the diffuser hides everything nicely.

Keep in mind the color of the light so you don’t end up with something harsh or conflicting with the other lights in the space.

So if you have to cut these because the microwave is in the middle of your cabinets, how does the other side hook up to power?


I went up , inside the wall cabinet and tucked the wire in the back corner, running it over to the second string of lights. Wire is hid up in the cabinet behind the vent hood. Used small P clamps and zip ties , very neat and nothing shows.

These are great for some installs . I used one in a bathroom project a few months ago.
