On our under cabinet lights, I used the microwave outlet (a standard duplex outlet) with a “smart plug” to connect the led strip’s power adapter (a little wall wart). Just ran the low voltage wires to each side from there. We leave the switch that came with the leds on and set to the brightness we want all the time. I can use the phone app or tell Alexa to turn the lights on via the smart plug. I think they make “switches” or buttons that are smart that could turn the smart plug on and off too, we just didn’t need that.


I did something similar. I got power for one side of the kitchen from the microwave plug , the other side the vent hood. No wires are visible .
