Just this week, I reclaimed a field. I threw out some corn to see what showed up on camera and it is promising. My question...what could I plant this late in the season? I know ryegrass would come up but I am not a huge fan. Thanks ahead for your thoughts!

Planting this late, I would use cereal rye and a little wheat as filler. The Rye will grow in much colder temps. Add some crimson clover if you are a turkey hunter.

Cereal rye (Elbon or Abruzzi) and wheat. It'll be green and growing after the first rain. I would NOT plant rye grass (Marshall).

Think black oats would work with the cereal rye and wheat . . Deer like variety
