It’s a different game now. Players are bigger, faster, and stronger as a whole. If these athletes played in the 60s and 70s people would have died. The equipment was terrible back then.
I know fans don’t like the fact that it’s against the rules to knock someone unconscious now, but the game had to be made safer. If they didn’t, we would be watching the NFL pull flags in about 5 more years. I agree with the rule changes. I’m glad they made the game safer. Trying to hit an opposing player and cause an injury is not necessary. And hitting was my most favorite part of the game when I played. It’s fun to watch, but I’ve had quite a few concussions over the years. 6 occurred during high school football. I can’t remember anything anymore. I used to be sharp as a tack with names and dates and stuff like that. Now I can remember stuff from years ago with no problem but my short term memory is really bad.

I read where the Lions coach told his players to hit Caleb Williams as he was heading out of bounds. I haven't watched the Bears this year, but apparently Williams is doing what Mahommees does, he heads for the sidelines, the defender lets up, he goes down the sidelines. The coach told the officials it was going to happen and why before the game started. Just two hand touch a qb and let's be done with it. Touch them anywhere and they are down by contact.

There needs to be a rule change to not allow QBs to take advantage of the slide rule.

Take he helmets off. Problem solved Well that would solve the problem of people getting hurt for sure. But would yall watch football with a bunch of rugby arm tackling? I would. But I’m betting the majority of people would not.
