U probably did the right thing by taking the pass on it. My luck it would have come though the windshield 🤪

Got to help a youngman find his first deer tonight. He shot her and they said she ran about 50 yards and flopped over. They waited till dark and got down only to realize the deer was gone and they couldn't find any blood with the rain. The dogs didn't waste anytime picking up the track and taking us around 350 yards into a over grown clear cut full of briars straight to her.

This deer was shot quartered away from the hunter with a muzzleloader around 4 yesterday evening in the rain. He found one spot of blood smeared on a tree and followed turned up leaves as far as he could. He called me around 9 this morning and when he told me he lived close by I clocked out of work and headed his way. The dogs picked up on it right away and took off. The hunter was telling me a story so I just listened while I was watching the dogs on the handheld. They made their way off the side of a mountain and we're showing treed. I love when the hunter gets all tore up when I ask if they want to go look at the deer or not. Awesome guy to track for!

Muzzleloader shot on a good 10 pt this evening……Hunter said he found blood and bone at the hite site and backed out….We decided to go in first thing in the morning…..Hopefully the coyotes leave it alone tonight if its still alive…..Had a leg shot for another hunter on this same property last year and never did catch up with it cause of ‘em

Well, no story this morning.......For whatever reason the hunter sent me a text just after midnight and cancelled.....I figure they got someone else to come out and track it last night…..The funny thing is though is that it was the hunter’s idea to wait until morning…He said he called his friend the game warden and that’s what he recommended and I agreed it would probably be best. Oh well, moving along to the next one

Just gonna throw this out there but you might want to watch your back this season John…..That call may have been nothing but my Spidey senses were kinda set off by some of it…..I would not put it past some folks to try and set trackers up this season for night hunting…..Just the way the guy asked if I was brining my gun and this and that…..I wondered if it wasn’t just to see if I’d insist on coming out there with a rifle and spotlight and finishing his deer off right then….Surely someone wouldn’t mention the GW ahead of time though unless they were just looking to give tickets to the really dumb ones.

Think it's BS the Game warden in Limestone County wouldn't allow tracker to finish off a wounded deer. The neighbor was a douche bag for calling GW.

Going to track one for some of BCLC’s neighbors in the morning…..They said he was gut shot and headed toward the water…..To be continued.....

Very lucky to recover this buck……He was shot low and way back in the guts with a crossbow……He went a total of around 750 yards and swam across two sloughs…..Pretty sure the hunter was probably bumped him last night……

This is the first slough he crossed about where the point comes out on the left…..He crossed from right to left and then went up over that ridge…..



……and back down to another slough…..a much bigger one this time…..We tracked him to the water’s edge and were contemplating our next move when I spotted him laying on the bank on the other side……
