Make Daylight Savings permanent. I honestly dont care if if the time is DST or regular, just pick one and stop changing it. I promise, with thousands of years of prehistoric history to back up my claim that humanity will be just fine without a damn time change. The time change is one of the most bureaucratic stupid damn things we have ever done as a specie. https://x.com/SenTuberville/status/1851350040670855664

I emailed Tubbs last year about it and got the response that congress won't bring it to agenda. Typical federal government.

I'm just trying to figure out who in Congress profits from keeping Status Quo, because you know somebody has to be making some money to keep from doing what most of America would like.

It was created by banks when there were "bankers hours". By creating the hour shift the banks using the exploits of their special working hours were able to create an exra weeks worth of free interest on the Fiscal Calendar. Remember when the time change used to happen back in the 70's? Right near the first of October, which is the start of the Fiscal Year. The time change was never about Farmers, it was sold by the banks as their way of farming time and compound interest.

I'm told that part of the reason it moves back in the fall is so that kids aren't waiting in the dark to be picked up by the bus. I don't know if that's the real reason but I do know I keep a sharp eye out for the kids on my road when I leave before daylight to go to work. Personally, I don't like the "Fall back".

There were no school buses when the time change was started.

I should have said part of the reason for keeping it.

You know I have to be different but I actually like the change and here are my 2 personal reasons. During the summer I can get off work at 4 and be at the boat ramp at 4:15, then fish till 8:15sih all summer. Then during hunting season I like it getting dark at 5:15 because that gives me time to get back to camp, skin a deer, get some food ready, maybe go out to eat... etc. I mean life would go on either way but right now the time changing fits my lifestyle.

I used want it to stay the same year around but I've changed my mind. Right now it sucks having to check and feed cattle in the dark before real work starts and I don't need to wait till the late afternoon to find out if something is wrong or not.

I don't follow, there's still 365.25 days in the year. Wouldn't that only work if you compound or charge interest by the hour?

I like DST .
