I don't have any cell cameras, but 6 AA batteries will run the Browning cameras I have been using for the last few years. They last about 4 months in really high traffic areas and 6 to 9 months in lower traffic areas.
Cell cameras are a totally different animal. They eat AA batteries in just a few weeks. You can get the cameras to last 2 months or so on lithium AA’s but lithiums cost $3+ a piece so it takes $50 in batteries to run one camera for half a season. The rechargeable packs are ok if you live local and can change them as needed without a lot of fuss. The solar packs are ok but fairly worthless in thick woods. I built 5 of those 12v boxes for $50 a piece and I charge them in August to full and never have to fool with them again except to move them or take them up after turkey season goes out. I used to run lithium AA’s until the prices went through the roof. The box is about $10 The battery is about $25 The cable and grommet is about $15-$16 from Herd360
