I am looking for a place to take my 2 boys for Thanksgiving week. Really the 23-26 or so. I originally was heading to Texas, but plans changed. Are there any good outfits in Alabama, Tenn area? Really just one of my sons will hunt, the 5 y/o and I will prolly just be support. Something that has good success with 115-130" deer. Our place in Mississippi has a few deer, but nothing he wants to shoot this yr. I have looked at most outfitters websites, but it is very difficult to trust anyone. Just looking for a reasonably priced place. Any opinions. Public has gotten to crazy and with it being gun season.

Just being honest. If an outfitter, especially an outfitter in Alabama, still has an opening for Thanksgiving week it probably isn’t that good.

You may want to try Enon Plantation. We have had great success there but haven’t been in a while.

I wouldn't waste my money with an Alabama deer outfitter.
If you want your boys to have a chance at a 115-130" deer with an Alabama outfitter, you will need to look a cull buck hunt at a high fence preserve.

I would pick possibly some place like Texas. Look in past posts, maybe the guys that hunt out there can chime in. A 115" is really possible in Alabama, but a 130" will really cost you anywhere these days, unless you luck up. May just want to carry the younger one out squirrel hunting. That along with catching bream in a private pond would probably put a smile on his face.

Cull or management hunt in Texas. Watch FB pages for cancellation hunts. Can get some good discounts on those too.

Just go to a high fence place in bama. In bama I would put my money that way cause outfitters here are hit and miss and probably spend about the same

A group of five of us went to Enon Plantation two years in a row, just before the Covid mess. We all killed a decent buck the first time and four of us killed bucks the 2nd trip. My nephew killed a 131, I killed a 120 and my brother killed a 120. All the bucks were decent. It might be worth a shot if you are wanting to stay in Alabama. We all saw plenty of rack bucks.

Start buying KS points and take them out for a youth hunt. They can easily kill a 140+ during that time!! Forget AL outfitters!!

Thanks for the info, yea i have just lost faith in the public areas. Way overcrowded and have been walked up on more than once. I have a couple youth draws here in MS i am bringing them on. Just was hoping to find something closer to home here. Texas was where we were originally going, but plans changed and most of the places were 2500-3500 for a decent buck. That was one, so it would be close to 6-7k for both. I am gonna get a kansas point this yr, so hopefully soon. Took the oldest to kansas on a youth hunt few years back and we did not see a buck after 1500.00 later. Outfitters are tough, even tougher when you paying that type of money and dont see a shooter or a even a deer.

I can put you on a KS outfitter that has had 100% opportunity for youth hunters since I’ve known him.

Call Bojie Beers at Alabama River lodge and see if he has any openings. Take fishing tackle if you go there. If he's booked call the Watts at Blackbelt Hunting lodge. All fine people and will do all they can for your boys, I will guarentee that.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
